Many people have a problem with this. 'He shouldn't be allowed to play in the NFL any more.' ...and... 'He's not a role model - he should not be put in that position.'
We are going to have to get it into our collective heads that life ain't fair. Yes, we know that if Vick was a teacher or a welder, he would not have gotten a job this quickly. And we know the fact that he is making millions again while most of us must actually work for far less money, is a bitter pill to swallow. Let's say it again - life ain't fair.
To be truthful, those that are against Vick coming back are probably against him being adored and accepted by the fans unconditionally - but that's another issue.
The Bible cautions us against comparing ourselves with others.
2 Cor. 10:12 - "We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise"
Gal. 6:4 - But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.
It is best not to get caught up with how much money one makes, or what others are doing. God uses different people for different purposes. In fact, Vick in his post game interview this evening made a reference to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - very encouraging.
We are not the final authority. So it really doesn't matter whether or not we think it's fair. God calls the shots. He will do what he sees fit. Vick spent two years in jail. What if in the next two years he wins people to Christ through the visibility God has given him?
